Window Tint for a New Car in La HabraNew car. Now make it yours.

A new car comes with a short window where everything still feels possible. Window tint is often the first change that makes it feel personal. At G & L Tint in La Habra, we help you plan film and shade around the new vehicle, the glass it came with and how you will drive it.

Why does tint feel like the finishing touch on a new car?

You spent weeks choosing the color, the trim and the features. Then you drive it home and notice the bright cabin, the glare on the screen, or how exposed it feels at a red light. Tint is often the change that closes the gap between the car you bought and the car you pictured.

Tell us what you want to keep about the new-car feeling and what you want to change. That is the brief we plan from.

Does new-car glass change the plan?

It can. Many vehicles come with factory privacy glass on rear windows, and that glass already looks darker before any film is added. Bring the car in so we can look at the actual glass together and compare samples against it.

We will talk through how a shade might look on each window, which shades apply to the front side windows under California rules, and how the film choice affects heat and glare. The tint films comparison covers dyed, carbon and ceramic options.

What should you ask before the appointment?

Ask which film line is being quoted, how the shade will look on your color and glass, what the curing period means for using the windows, and what written warranty comes with that film.

If the car is a lease or still under dealer coverage, it is reasonable to check with your dealer first about any changes to the vehicle.

How do you match tint to the car's color and style?

A shade can look different on a white car than on a black one, and different again against chrome or black trim. Look at samples next to your paint in daylight if you can, and think about whether you want the tint to blend in or stand out.

Consider the inside too. Light interiors show the difference in brightness more, while dark interiors can feel very private with a lighter shade. Tell us which look you are after, and we will help you compare options that fit both the style and the rules for each window.

What does the first week with tint look like?

Picture parking at work and walking back to a car that looks complete, with a calmer cabin and a little more privacy. That is the experience we aim for. We are also honest that results depend on the film, the glass and which windows are tinted.

Follow the care instructions for the first days, and if anything looks off once the film settles, ask us.

A FEW USEFUL ANSWERS

Questions you might have.

My new car already has dark rear windows. Do I still need tint?

It depends on what you want. Factory privacy glass looks dark, but film is a separate layer. We compare samples against your actual glass so you can decide.

Which windows can I tint on a new car?

That depends on the window position and California rules. Ask which shades apply to each window before installation.

How soon after buying can I get tint?

Whenever you are ready. Bring the vehicle details and any dealer or lease questions to the first conversation.

Will tint look the same on any car color?

No. The same shade can look different depending on paint, trim and factory glass, so compare samples against your vehicle.
